LET THE BIRDS HAVE THE SKIES

A MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATION

LAUNCH TOUR & TAXIS BRUSSELS IN SEPTEMBER

Lola Perrin & Rob La Frenais created ‘Let the birds have the skies’ an installation for public spaces commissioned by Brussels NGO Transport & Environment’s Travel Smart Campaign. “We created a soundscape of specially-recorded voices of business travellers to blend with Perrin's recent composition recording 'Let the birds have the skies'. This was integrated with Perrin’s stop-motion experience of landscapes, railway architecture and travellers we encountered on trains and stations from Brussels to Davos, Switzerland and fromToulouse to Seville and back, travelling through France, Belgium, Germany and Spain. This was an artistic process which aimed to address the brief given us ‘to bring home the realities of the environmental challenges we face, particularly those arising from unsustainable transport modes and business travel’.” (Quote Rob La Frenais)

May 2023 Lola signed a production music deal with London Sync Music for media use of a portion of her recorded catalogue.

NOV: Composer of the week MOVING CLASSICS TV

JULY: Press release

Lola Perrin’s ‘Cloud Sky Fade’ re-released as Balearic hit Composer/pianist Lola Perrin’s music has been described in the past as ‘rave music for butterflies’. Withe the release of a new eclectic Balearic beat

album featuring Perrin’s classic hit from 2016

‘Cloud Sky Fade’ it’s officially rave music for humans too. DJ/music curators Mark Barrott and Pete Gooding present the fourth volume of La Torre Ibiza, their series of stellar collections showcasing the sunset sounds spun at Ibiza`s Hostal La Torre, including Cloud Sky Fade. “Sets, sequences, of music designed to celebrate the passing of another day and welcome the pleasures of night, as the Sun makes way for Sister Moon”.

Past eclectic musicians have included Peguin Cafe Orchestra, The Durrutti Column and John Barry.

From a description on Beatport: “Composer / pianist Lola Perrin`s Cloud Sky Fade is an unadorned, unadulterated - save a little reverb - rippling river of cascading classical keys. Her piano rolling, reaching crescendos like crashing surf. Licensed from Lola's 2006 CD, Fragile Light, it's worthy of comparison with Keith Jarrett`s ECM output, and Wim Mertens' beloved The Belly Of An Architect score”.

LOLA PERRIN/CLIMATEKEYS TO HOST WEBINAR FEATURING TIM CROSLAND

The government has applied to the Supreme Court to jail barrister Tim Crosland for shining a light on its plans to breach Paris goals.

Join this webinar in conversation with Tim Crosland and guests in advance of Tim's hearing at the Supreme Court.

With poetry, live music and audience conversation.

Featuring Tim Crosland

"Tomorrow, 16 December, the Supreme Court will publish its judgement on Heathrow expansion. I have taken the decision to break the embargo on that decision as an act of civil disobedience. This will be treated as a “contempt of court” and I am ready to face the consequences. I have no choice but to protest the deep immorality of the Court’s ruling..."

Plus a panel of diverse activists from a range of campaigning methods

Margaret Angula (Academic and activist, Namibia)

Nina Vinther (Classical music aviation activist)

Alice English (Sky Rebellion coordinator)

Jon Fuller (A climate activist with 40 years' experience involved across multiple campaigns )

Todd Smith (Airline pilot turned aviation activist)

Phil Maxwell & Hazuan Hashim (Liverpool activist filmmakers covering local airport campaigning)

April de Angelis (Acclaimed National Theatre playwright & activist)

MOVING CLASSICS INTERVIEW

" ... I accept that the most incredible achievements of our civilisation, including the sum total of music creation which we’ve preserved this far is at risk of annihilation, along with everything else. You can’t argue with a confirmed global temperature rise of at least two degrees and therefore with the chances for preservation. I miss the days when I could just listen to a piece of music and allow it to transform me without feeling scared everything Bach wrote will end up in a flood."
